Sacred Memories Altar
Mixed-media

The altar was created with love and care to honour the life of my Gramma Chris who passed earlier this year. Gramma Chris was a talented artist and the ofrenda (offerings) laid out on the altar reflect that:

• The photographs are hers, the last work she produced.
• The pottery was made by her, I love holding in my hand something she made with hers.
• The bottles, bones and moon snails a belonged to her, they were frequent subject matters of hers and I treasure her paintings of these objects.
• The rocks belonged to her as well, I have childhood memories of them on her side table, where they remained until she passed and I took them home.
